1. About the service

NihaoLingo is a Chinese-language learning service, including one-on-one online tutoring and the NihaoCard app, a spaced-repetition flashcard tool. These terms cover your use of nihaolingo.com and your NihaoCard account.

2. Creating an account

Using NihaoCard requires an account with an email address and password. You agree to provide accurate information and not to share access to your account with others. You're responsible for keeping your password secure.

3. Acceptable use

Your account is for personal, non-commercial use for language learning. You agree not to: use the service to distribute spam or malicious content; attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization; use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to mass-create accounts or harvest data.

4. Your content

The words, cards, and notes you add to your deck are yours. We store them to provide the service to you (showing your cards, scheduling reviews) and don't use them for any other purpose.

5. Service availability

We aim to keep the service running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change as the product evolves.

6. Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or remove an account that violates these terms.

7. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that using NihaoCard will result in any particular level of language proficiency -- learning outcomes depend on how consistently you study.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page.
